Efficient Thermal Insulation

Our thermal break windows are perfectly suited to our Australian climate with long hot summers and cold wet winters.

What is a Thermal break system?

Essentially a thermal break window is simply where reinforced polyamide (or plastic) bars are inserted between the inside and outside of aluminium profiles to provide an insulated aluminium window or door. This polyamide bar stops the transfer of heat, cold and noise through the extrusion by means of a “break” in the aluminium, hence thermal break windows. Huge benefits are gained by utilising our thermal break windows with up to 40% reduction in cooling costs in summer and up to 32% reduction in heating costs in winter. The full range of windows and doors is available featuring our thermal break technology meaning the functionality and benefits can be applied to the residential and commercial markets with ease.

Utilizing the EC65TB Supertherm range means it can accommodate up to 51.7mm of double or triple glazed glass to meet any architectural specifications.

For those who want the best in thermal and energy efficiency look no further.

Normal Windows

Windows provide light, fresh air and a view to our great outdoors, but they are a major source of unwanted heat in summer and heat loss in winter.

Independent Testing

Independent testing by Windows Energy Rating Scheme (WERS) of our Thermal Break Casement Window and Awning Window have produced the following “maximum” results over the range of tested products.

  • Heating Stars – 6
  • Cooling Stars – 5
  • “U” Value – 2.1
  • SHGC – 0.25
  • Air Infiltration – 0.1
  • Heating % better – 66%
  • Cooling % better – 66%

See copy of our WERS certificates shown below.

High Acoustic Insulation

A window’s ability to reduce noise depends on the frame design and glazing as follows:

  • Frame design – The Euro Collection frames achieves a high level of sealing between the frame and sashes. Air and noise infiltration are minimised by a series of sealing systems including the thermal break. All Euro Collection frames have the highest standard of sealing possible to ensure an effective sound barrier.
  • Glazing options – The Euro Collection’s innovative design enables the use of various glazing options, so the most suitable option can be chosen for your individual need. Taking into consideration the availability of various glass thicknesses, weights & double glazing options, the Euro Collection will accommodate the most appropriate glass panel to prevent noise penetration.

Due to the flexibility of the Euro Collection, we can also provide effective secondary glazing solutions to maximise the acoustic insulation of buildings located in extremely noisy environments.
