Sliding Multi-Stack Doors in St. Peters

ALL NEWS

Take a look at May’s Project of the Month in the heart of Adelaide’s Eastern Suburbs.

Our clients have a lovely 1900s sandstone villa, with loads of character on the outside, but ultimately, the home lacked character and the wow factor in the new extension. Our clients had trouble executing their vision on the inside, and after recently relocating from interstate, they wanted to feel at home in their new space.

The challenge was to bring life and character into the living space whilst keeping it practical and functional for a young family.

To make the most of the space, we used a 3 panel stacking door which allowed a seamless flow between the inside and out, and allowed an unobstructed view of the clients beautiful garden. We incorporated a retractable flyscreen to allow air circulation, but keep out the outside critters.

The key colour in the existing décor was red, and it was evident that it was a well like colour for the family, so we incorporated it as a feature colour in the new décor.

A key feature in the living space was the polished concrete floor. The floor runs right through the living space, and was heavily speckled. We chose to go with a black frame, to create contrast against the concrete and modernise the space for the young family. The black frame allowed a clean, crisp look that complimented the style of the home and décor, as well as the red brick outside.

We chose for the panel to stack back to the right side of the room, giving the home owners the flexibility to open the doors right up, and create an extension of that valuable living space while they are entertaining, therefore being able to freely transition from the kitchen to the outdoor entertaining area.

Style: We decided to keep the living room contemporary, with the flexibility to change as the family grows. The focal point in the décor is the Red Ploum Sofa. A timeless piece designed for comfort and a wow factor. The rug and lambs wool keep it cosy for winter, and are easily replaced to create a new look for summer.
