ArborCrest Bifold Doors Payneham South

John and Christine came to ArborCrest with a problem. Their living and entertaining area was dark and had restricted access from their existing sliding door on to their outdoor deck.

After a showroom visit they decided they would like to enlarge the existing opening in both height and width, and install one of ArborCrest's aluminium Bifold doors with a retractable screen.

We arranged a site visit which included a structural assessment of the existing wall and roof structure and confirmed that we could help them achieve their goal of opening up the space.

Arborcrest was responsible for the following steps.

  • Engineering calculations, design and drawings.
  • Zip wall plastic protection
  • Roof support
  • Demolition and enlarging of existing wall
  • Structural steel beam and column design and installation
  • External brickwork reinstatement including retaining feature brick course above doors
  • Internal Gyprock reinstatement including flushing and sanding
  • Installation of our commercial grade Bifold door and Centor retractable screen
  • Modification of existing deck boards to accomodate sill
  • External flashings
  • Transition step to facilitate wheeling things over the Bifold door threshold

Total site duration: 5 x days

The end result was spectacular.

Not only was the Bifold door installed so that it looks like part of the original build, but we were able to achieve John and Christine’s goal of opening up the space.

Because the process was quick and communicated well, it was a pleasurable experience for all parties.

Thanks to John and Christine for the opportunity to work on their home, they were wonderful clients.
